Bought tickets to Pena Palace while in Lisbon and taxied to the town. Once there found that there were too many add ons once at the site. Ie; extra bus rides, other tour sites. There were many visitors there the day we went and found the interior tour boring due to length of time shuffling people through the two floors. Would skip that tour the next time. The old town visit part way down the hill after the castle was a highlight for us. Took the train back to what we thought as Lisbon but due to no visitor help at the station ended up on the wrong train.
Had no problems with the tickets. Something came up for our group so we got there later than planned and couldn't enter the actual palace. It was still a great experience just enjoying the terraces and taking lovely photos. We actually wished we'd paid for the park only as we didn't feel like we'd missed much, not entering the palace.
The castle is beautiful and very original, park a haven of peace very nice day without hitch.transport very well organized

An enjoyable day in the company of Paulo SILVA who is a very professional guide and ensures that everyone gets the most out of the tour. I gave 4 stars because the description of the visit to the castle gardens is ambiguous. In fact, the most beautiful gardens don't belong to Pena Palace, but to other castles not included in the tour.

Nice trip We hadskip the vie rocket, That was good Will organiced, the trip inside the castle Lita of nice rooms with good info plates, with just the Essentials Text. Aldo Nice suvenir shop and cafeteria and restaurant. The outside castle trip was ok, nice view. Good organized the route. Not to many people when we were there in the morning. Can see it could be more difficult if there were more people. A little confusion regatding the return transport, but we walked down to Sintra....
It was a wonderful visit to Pena Palace. The weather was perfect. The time we went was less crowded. We took advantage of the shuttle.
I was amazed by all of Sintra. The castles are wonderful but also the village itself is so beautiful and there are very nice places omnto eat.

The ticket process was easy. The palace was nice, but the walk up and the gardens are stunning 🤩 If you are fit enough I highly suggest taking the hike up in the morning.
The highlight of my visit was being able to find parking at the entrance to the garden after almost being scammed by the Tuk Tuk guys at the bottom of the hill. Luckily a local waived his finger to warn me not to park where guy was telling me to go. Garden was nice to hike up though on the sunny day. We did notice Giant Hogweed growing near path which is dangerous to touch though. The palace was amazing and the views are the best we have seen.
This place is perfect for a romantic stroll! The park is simply sublime! 🤩 We parked in Sintra and walked up to the palace through a park. It's a steep climb! But what satisfaction once we got to the top 😍

Very comfortable purchase and excellent experience. The palace and grounds are wonderful. The only downside is that the high number of visitors makes it a long wait before entering and also a bit forced to visit the interiors, which follows a bit of a processional rhythm, everyone proceeding at the same time and not much way to linger. Overall, however, very positive experience! As for the park, immense, full of surprises and tiring to get around (but absolutely worth it)

Online tickets were fast and easy. The park grounds weren't of much interest to us after seeing Moors castle and Pena Palace and all the walking for those sights. Pena Palace was ok. Not hugely glamorous. The mountaintop location is the most impressive thing.
Need a good half day to walk the grounds and palace. Didn't go inside but very satisfied with the outside areas. Steep walk up and not for someone with mobility issues.
Although the palace was very crowded, the place is incredible and we didn't have any problems with the tickets! We just queued up and waited for our turn to go in ☺️ It was amazing!

Absolutely loved it!! We went to Pena Palace in the morning, but it was already bit crowded, so we didnt stay there that long. Instead, we decided to explore the park and it was the best decision. We were there alone pretty much most of the time and from some places, we had an amazing view at the Pena Palace. Definitely recommend spending about 1-2 hours exploring the park.
It was a great experience, just be mindful to arrive plenty of time ahead, to reach the palace it take around 10-15 walk uphill.
The tour was good. The palace is pretty amazing. The one thing that was a little bothersome was the fact that on the tkt it says that your time a lot is your time slot and will not be tolerated if missed, well it was , many ppl were arriving after their scheduled time. One thing that would be nice to be included is the length it can take to get from train station to the palace, the traffic was very congested and took longer than we thought it would. We were thankful we gave ourselves lots of time to get there
The castles are beautiful. They are worth visiting, but I do not recommend doing both visits on the same day. The distances between one and the other involve more than an hour's drive. The coaches run every 20 minutes. I wanted to stay longer at Quinta da Regaleira, and it was getting late to get into Quinta da Pena. I had to take a Bolt to get there on time. Calculate well the distances and how you are going to be able to travel.

Was an amazing place to visit, loved it! We were very glad we paid for priority entrance & skipped the queue. Also signage in English so no need for a guided tour.
Charming places, consider the weather and especially the wind that can be very strong in the highlands. The places are to be visited in more than one day if you are a nature lover.

Fascinating palace with almost fairytale like extragances architecturally. The queues however were excessive despite entry system.
The palace is beautiful and its gardens. The worst thing is the hill to get to it and the need to arrive on time.

The experience was outstanding regarding the quinta da Regaleira, beautiful the garden part all to discover with the caves as icing on the cake is beautiful fairy tale atmosphere. On the other hand, less beautiful was the visit of the Pena Palace, the palace very nice to photograph in the outside part but how the visit inside is organized I did not like it: it is a perennial and endless line to see two rooms and you do not see them well because you have to keep walking as there are so many people.

Everything was fantastic and fast. We got rained on a bit wn the queue to get in but all very well organized. I'm glad we went. I don't know how long it takes from the parking lot to the castle entrance.

Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, this castle once stood as a key defense stronghold against invading forces.
Walking along the ancient stone walls and climbing the watchtowers gives you a real sense of medieval military life.
The castle’s high vantage point offers some of the best views in Sintra, stretching all the way to the coastline.
With exhibits and guided tours, you’ll uncover the fortress’s history, its strategic importance, and the incredible engineering behind its design.
Don't miss: The Pena Chapel, the Clock Tower, the Arches Yard, and the Terraces.
Don't miss: The secret passages and large cistern, which were vital in case of siege, the Gate of Betrayal, concealed in the curtain wall

Yes, it grants full access to Pena Palace, including its interior rooms, terraces, and the expansive gardens. Some tickets may include only access to the park, so check carefully before booking.
On average, visitors spend 2–3 hours exploring the palace, its colorful facades, and the gardens. If you enjoy photography or detailed sightseeing, plan for 3+ hours.
No, the ticket does not cover transportation to the palace from Sintra town. However, it may include a shuttle inside Pena Park to help with steep uphill climbs. If your ticket doesn’t include this, you can buy a separate Hop-on Hop-off shuttle inside the park.
